This panel is looking at the obstacles in the current climate finance architecture of existing funding instruments that prevent a wider and better support of concrete climate actions by grassroots women in developing countries, both ongoing and future ones.  What steps are necessary – political, operational, financial and social – to overcome these hurdles?  What role do providers of public climate finance have to play in ensuring sufficient funding and an enabling regulatory and organizational environment?  What role can not-for-profit civil society organizations and philanthropic foundations play?  Is there a role for the private sector?
