CSW56 Learning Circle: Gender and Climate Change

12:30-2pm at the Church Center, 2nd floor

777 UN Plaza (44th Street & 1st Ave.)

The Global Gender and Climate Alliance (GGCA) and NGO CSW Forum will co-convene this learning circle as an introduction to key gender and climate issues, building on the CSW56 theme of rural women.  Specifically, this event seeks to introduce
CSW56 delegates not necessarily familiar with gender and climate issues to its various dimensions, in order to increase appreciation of the important leadership role of women (in particular rural women) in developing and implementing effective climate policy.

We will open the Learning Circle with an introduction providing delegates a basic orientation to the key gender and climate issues and areas for engagement.   Resource experts will then lead 20 minute break-out discussion groups focusing on climate finance, disaster risk reduction, mitigation, adaptation, and advocacy.  Delegates will have an opportunity to participate in two learning circles before the plenary resumes.
